Concepts & Techniques:
            1. See:
Tutorial: Create a Single Cylinder .
            2. Typing relative point positions.
            3. Using the 'Edit Part' dialog to alter end section dimensions.

Procedure:

1. Open a new design using the 'File|New' command. This opens the 'Open New Design' dialog box requesting initial design input defining the required 3D CAD space for the design and other values (
see: Open New Design Dialog ).

2. Create a new part by following points 1 to 4 in
Tutorial:Create a Single Cylinder . With the new object active  select a vertical cursor plane  from the 'View' tab of the taskbar. Also see: 'Creating a Part '.

3. Now select the
Axis Snap  tool to snap the active part to nearest cartesian axis to the mouse pointer.

4. Type a length into the object length edit box in the
command dialog .

5. With the object aligned to the vertical cursor plane axis select with the mouse button to fix the second end point of the new object. The '
Edit Part' dialog box  will now open on the new object. Select the section indicator (highlighted green) at the lower end. Type a value of 300 into the 'Diameter' parameter. Now select the upper end section indicator and type in a diameter of 150. Close the dialog to complete the part design.

Variations:

1. Instead of using the axis snap tool and typing in a length, a simple way to define the cylinder orientation is by typing in the second point position (see:
Creating a Part ) . Normally this is done by selecting 'Relative' as the datum and typing in a point relative to the first. In this case type '0,0,300' into the 'Point' edit box with 'Relative' datum. Or type '@0,0,300' to force relative input regardless of the 'Datum' setting.
