Sheet Lightning is supplied with a comprehensive library of standard designs. These design can be loaded
and altered by simply changing dimension values. The standard library designs at the time of release are
categorised below. The library continues to expand as customer requests are submitted. They are
categorised as follows:
These designs have all been developed using the full 3D CAD program. In addition to these there is also a
special parametric designs (accessed through the 'Special' menu) for creating Swept Bends (i.e. also know
as segmented bends, Lobster back bends or elbows) and other more complex designs involving not just
alteration of dimensions but generation of objects in response to parametric input.
All the standard parametric designs have been created using the CAD design environment and then
parameterized using the command 'File|Convert to Parametric' (not available in Sheet Lightning Lite). The
library includes most standard designs but can be extended further using the Sheet Lightning (full version)
convert facility. The process of creating new parametric designs from CAD designs is know as 'Design
Parametrization '.
The designs include all forms of bends/elbows, tees, junctions/cross-overs, square-to-round adapters,
diverters, ovals, oval-to-square/round/oval adapters. Many of them provide for 'oblique offset' or 'skewing'
of the design. Other designs may be also available through the Revcad website, third-party vendors or via
the design services operated by Revcad and/or third parties.
