Exploring Match Dependency
Previous Top Next

Commands are provided to explore the match dependency order  of the objects in a design in a similar way to the commands for exploring the connectivity of objects.

Selection Commands

Select Match Independents

The
Match menu  provides the  'Select Match Independents' command. This automatically selects all objects in the current view that have no match dependency on any other object. This is the usually starting point for exploring the match dependency of a whole design (Tip: Use the command shortcut for convenience).

Select Match Dependents

This command is only enabled if one or more objects are selected in the current view. The command adds the immediate
match dependents  of the currently selected objects to the selected objects in the view. If no objects are added to the selection set then none are dependent. Repeatedly selecting the command will highlight all objects down to the last dependents in the connection chain.

Select Match Sources

This command is only enabled if one or more objects are selected in the current view. The command adds the immediate
match sources  of the currently selected objects to the selected objects in the view. If no objects are added to the selection set then the objects are not match dependent on any others. Repeatedly selecting the command will highlight all objects up to the original sources (the match independents in the connection chain).

Listing Match Dependency

The report listing commands also list the match dependencies of the objects as an alternative way of exploring their match dependencies.
