Use the match commands to semi-automatically adjust the section sizes and end positions of parts to
achieve valid intersections between linked parts. The match process is controlled by command dialog
and
can be aborted at any time using the ESCAPE key.
Match Commands Description
Match Selected
Only availabe when a single part is selected in the design. The selected part is matched up to its linked
parts. The match parts are selected in the match command dialog .
There may be one or two match parts, matching the selected part at one or both ends.
Match From Selected
Only available when a single part is selected in the design. A chain of match operations are triggered for
each linked part starting with the selected part. No match command is triggered for the selected part
itself, but only for the parts linked to it. The process move along the part link, chain matching each part to
the previous. The process ends when there are no more linked parts to process, or the user aborts with
the ESCAPE key, or the cancel button is pressed in the matching command dialog. In this way the match
dependency of parts is specified to transverse the chain.
Re-Match Design
This command rematches all parts in the design according to their currently established match
dependencies and match options. Each match process is recorded as they occur. This command simply
repeats the process for each part according to these recorded settings in match dependency order.
Re-Match Selected
This command rematches only the selected parts. Not available in the alpha version.
Match Edit
Match edit allows the match options to be edited via a dialog box. Not available in the alpha version.
Match Options...
Opens the options dialog box on the Match Options
tab. The match options have a global effect on the
matching operations.
Select All Match Independents
This command automatically selects only the parts that have no match dependency on other parts. These
parts may be linked to others but the other parts will be matched up to them. They cannot therefore be
adjusted by by matching operations using their current match setttings. The match object selection
commands can be used to easily explore the match dependencies. By first selecting this command then
repeatedly selecting the 'Select Match Dependents' command the match order/sequence can be explored.
Select Match Dependents
This selects the objects that are dependent on the currently selected objects. The match dependent
objects are added to the current selection. Repeated use of this command will tranverse the match
dependency chain until there are no more objects with match dependency on the selected object.
Select Match Sources
This selects the objects on which the selected objects have a match dependency. Repeated selection of the
command will continue to select linked objects back to the match independent sources.
