The help system can be accessed in a number of ways. Firstly in a general way by directly using
the 'Help Contents' or 'Help Index' menu commands in the Help menu. The 'Open Manual'
command will also open a pdf format document containing exactly the same information as the
help system but in printable document form.
Alternatively, and more powerfully, the help system can be invoked at any time by pressing the
F1 key. This invokes the help system in a context sensitive way. This means the help system is
invoked on the most relevant help page to the current activity in the program. It can be used most
effectively in the following ways:
1. Dialogs - Most dialog boxes have a help page associated with them. Sometimes a help button
is provided to access this help, but almost invariably help can be accessed on the purpose and
operation of the dialog box by simply pressing the F1 key when the dialog box is open.
2. Commands - When a command is used in the 3D design system it often initiates a process.
For example when the 'Create Part' command (or icon) used the system prompts for points to be
selected in the 3D view to position the new part. If the F1 key is pressed while this command is in
progress the help system will be invoked on the help page that describes the procedure.
