This page provides instructions on the use of the paid design features included in the software
(mainly added through updates). These features are generally high level design, or it may
generate high value output data (such as manufacturing data) that can only be obtained through
the software by it communicating with the Revcad server and submitting design data via a web
connection. The design data is then processed and the output data is returned to the software.
When a design generated by a paid design feature is submitted the procedure is as follows:
1. Submit
the design - via a command button, or other means, added for the purpose. This
may be the submission of a whole design, perhaps for the generation of unfolded pattern
data. This opens a dialog to confirm the submission.
2. On Submission - When the submission is sent several things happen. First -
a confirmation
dialog appears to confirm the submission. Second - when the confirmation dialog is closed
the 'Job Client Dialog Box' is opened showing full log of all jobs that have been submitted,
complete with their status and information. The log for the latest submission will be
highlighted. This log can be used to open and examine the information on the submission and
open the design that was sent. Third - a web page is opened where payment can be made
for the submission. Once the server receives the submission and confirmation of the payment
the data is delivered back to the client. Details of this connection and how to set it up are
included later.
3. The Payment Web Page Opens - On submission the payment web page is automatically
invoked in the default web browser for payment to be made for the output data. The server
will only respond to the design submission when it receives confirmation from the payment
vendor that the payment has been successfully made.
4. Delivery of Output Data - The job client continues to look for data delivery
for all jobs
pending return delivery for as long as the software is active. When the job client detects that
delivery of data has been made for a job it will automatically download the data (so long as it
is automatically setup to do this) and then report the receipt of data by invoking the data
delivery dialog box showing the job details. This dialog allows either the delivered data to be
opened and examined (where appropriate) or the original design that was submitted can be
opened. It also provides a button link back to the job client so the updated job status and
information can be viewed. The job client always provides a link back to this delivery dialog
box.
At any time the job client can be opened via the Help menu and the jobs viewed. For more
information on the features the job client dialog please refer to the job client dialog
page.
