A center line arrangement can be imported from a DXF format file using the Open command
followed by Import DXF (Center Lines). This facility enables center line models to be created in a
familiar third party CAD system and exported to a DXF file.
The import dialog allows the necessary layers to be selected for importing center lines from them.
The required diameters and other data can then be attached on a model, layer or object by object
basis. Once the OK button is pressed the design is transferred into 3D CAD environment where
the final modifications or alternations can be made.
The center line import facility can be used to create very complex designs, with the aid of another
CAD system, such as buildings and other structures.

After selecting the import command via the Open menu command the DXF import dialog shows
the imported design and the Main tab on the left provides controls that allow the layers that
should be converted to objects to be selected. The main tab also allows the diameter applied to
the model to be specified, along with the default form of matching that should be applied to object
connection.
The Layer and Object tabs allow the object dimensions and relationships to be specified and
overridden for the model on a layer-by-layer, or object-by-object basis.
On the Main tab other options are:
Generate: Boolean- If this is checked the design is set to regenerate each time something is
changed.
Cut: Boolean - This allow the design to be both regenerated in arrangement and cut/welded
together. If the model is large then unchecking this option can speed up the operation.
Auto: Boolean - The auto check box enables the regenerate to happen automatically. If
unchecked the Generate button is highlighted as soon as the model is due for regeneration.
