The cross cursor appears together with the mouse pointer in the 3D view during 3D point selection
commands. It indicates the current 3D position corresponding to the 2D location of the mouse pointer in
the view. The cross cursor and mouse cursor may not be coincident if the 3D movement is restricted in
some way (e.g. center line snapped or node snapped).
